What can cause a pink/brown discharge when I am on the pill and in the early/mid cycle?

I have already done a PAP test, blood tests and clamedya and gonorrhea tests last summer due to recurrent vaginitis every month. All negative and I have the same partner of 7 years. In addition, I take antibiotics for vaginitis every week for over 6 months as a preventive measure. Also since last December, they changed my Marvelon pill to the generic (mivala) I think.

Hello Ma'am,
Spotting like this can happen when the pill isn't strong enough, when the woman is going through a stressful time, or when she's starting to do a little more physical activity again.
Would any of these conditions explain the current situation in your opinion?

Hello,
Yes, I was at the end of my college semester, so it was most likely due to a stressful time. Do you know how long this could last? Also, the pharmacy is now giving me the generic (Mirvala) of my original pill which is Marvelon, am I better off going back on Marvelon?
Thank you

No, the Mirvala™ is supposed to do the same thing, although we do indeed see some minor bleeding when switching medications in some women.
Usually, if you continue to take the pill despite the bleeding, one should see the bleeding stop after no more than 10 days, and usually after 3 to 4 months of taking the Mirvala™, when there is less stress, one should have no more spotting.
