I have an unpleasant smell at the end of my period?

Hello, I have noticed that when I finish my menstrual cycle, the next 2 to 4 days, my vaginal discharge has an unpleasant odor (note that my vaginal discharge does not have a color or a strange texture and that it does not itch.) It's really the smell that bothers me a lot and I don't understand why it does this to me at the end of my period.

Hello Mrs.,
If I understand correctly, the odor is only at the end of menstruation and is temporary?

Good morning, sir! Yes, exactly. It is present only at the end for 2 to 4 days depending on

Thanks for the feedback!
The smell can indeed vary during the menstrual cycle as you may have noticed. However, this does not necessarily indicate a problem.
The first thing to do is to focus on non-pharmacological measures, if this has not been tried:
  • Ensure basic hygiene with water. If soap is desired, I suggest a mild unscented soap, such as Dove Stick, which can be used all over the body, including the outside of the vagina.
  • If you use douches or more irritating or scented soaps like Vagisil for example, it could make the problem worse.
I hope this has been helpful, and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Hello! Okay that makes me feel better that it's normal. I'm using the odorless Dove already. If I ever want the smell, do I need to go to a doctor so they can prescribe me a cream or something else?
Thank you😀

A cream will be prescribed if the smell is secondary to another problem. But indeed, if it is very bothersome to you, or impinges on your quality of life, I would advise consulting a doctor.
