Can Vyvanse decrease the effectiveness of Citalopram?

Vyvanse does not reduce the effectiveness of Citalopram. However, Vyvanse may create restlessness, insomnia, or loss of appetite that may resemble depressive symptoms. I reassure you, however, that one does not reduce the effectiveness of the other.

Other types of interactions may be noted, but these are quite rare! If your doses are well adjusted and you have no side effects, there is no contraindication to continuing the 2 treatments.

If you feel that your symptoms are not well controlled with citalopram, I would encourage you to see your doctor to see if a dose adjustment would be necessary.
