Are there any effective ways to relieve the pain of Herpes type 1 other than acetaminophen or ibuprofen (which I already take)?

Usually a medication such as valtrex (valacyclovir) or famvir (famcyclovir) can be prescribed and these treatments are very helpful for pain control.
