When to take a pregnancy test if you have a very irregular cycle?

Hello, we have been on a baby trial for a few months. My cycles are very irregular (they vary between 25 and 35 days from one cycle to another). For the last 8 months, I have not had a cycle of the same length. I have been doing acupuncture for 3 weeks (1 session per week) for fertility and to reduce my stress. We had unprotected sex during my fertile period. I am on day 25 of my cycle, negative test, but no PMS symptoms.

I have also been feeling tightness in my lower abdomen for a few days. (which I never felt before)
I don't know if it's due to the acupuncture?

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question!
It is usually recommended that you take a pregnancy test on the first day of your expected period. In a case where, like you, your cycle may be irregular, it is suggested that you test on the first expected day depending on the length of your previous cycles
You could test on day 28 and then on day 35 if the first test is inconclusive
As for the tightness you are feeling, it is difficult to determine the cause at this stage.
I hope I've been helpful, and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Hello,
I am at day 30 of my cycle and still no period, but negative test at day 28. However, I don't feel that they will start soon.
My ovulation took place around day 14-15 (identified with ovulation test).
How many days after ovulation can menstruation occur? Is it not 14 days?
Thank you

Yes, usually it is around 14 days after ovulation, for a 28 day cycle
However, irregularity in your cycle could affect these intervals.
If the situation persists for more than a month, I suggest that you consult a doctor, as a precaution.
Sincerely
