Hello to you! For a person taking telmisartan 40 mg, are there any contraindications to taking Advil? And what do you think of the new UNISOM snoring product?

Is Unisom recommended, even though it contains xylocaine as an anesthetic? Will this product work for a long time in the throat and is it dangerous to choke on our saliva? Is it effective? Contraindications? Thank you very much!

Hello to you,
Concerning snoring, several factors must be corrected before thinking of using a medication: excess weight, smoking, alcohol consumption or sleeping pills. The sleeping position often has an influence (sleeping on the back favors snoring).
A few changes are often enough to make the snoring disappear. I would not recommend medication for a health problem that can be solved without it!
Obviously, you want to consult a doctor to make sure that it is not sleep apnea. Once this diagnosis has been excluded, we recommend that the snoring person :
  • Lose weight: decreases airway obstruction.
  • Sleep on the side: helps open the airway.
  • Exercise: promotes a healthy weight and improves sleep quality
  • Avoiding alcohol and sedatives: reduces snoring
  • Quit smoking: reduces throat irritation.
Once all these factors are corrected, and only then, will we consider using such a product.
I hope that I have answered your question correctly,

Concerning telmisartan (Micardis), there is indeed a contraindication to taking ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)
Indeed, someone on telmisartan treatment usually has high blood pressure. Ibuprofen harms this person in two ways: it increases blood pressure directly, and it prevents the medication from working properly (ultimately resulting in a further increase in blood pressure).
For an uncomfortable condition that requires both medications to be taken at the same time, it is recommended that the patient drink plenty of water (1.5 to 2L of water per day, including fruits and vegetables) and take his or her blood pressure twice in a row, one minute apart, twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. This ensures that the medication is not harmful!
I hope I have answered your question again,
