Tegretol: is it normal to have a level in the blood even if I don't have epilepsy?

Epilepsy medication tegretol: I was taking tegretol for epilepsy. I met with a neurologist and forgot to ask him a question. If I was taking medication and a blood test was done to validate the concentration in the blood but it gave me a concentration between the scales related to the medication for its effectiveness but the neurologist discovered that I had been misdiagnosed. I ended up not being epileptic and I was wondering if I was taking the drug but really didn't need it, so is it normal to have a drug level even though I wasn't epileptic?

Hello, Taking this medication regularly will increase its concentrations in the blood, regardless of the disease. The scale only represents the targeted concentration according to the disease you are trying to treat. The fact that you have taken this medication without needing it may have caused unnecessary side effects without having brought you any benefits. If your neurologist has recommended that you stop taking this medication (do not do so without your neurologist or doctor's recommendation or prescription), the concentrations of this medication in the blood will then slowly decrease until they disappear completely
