I have had changes in my mood since I changed birth control pills?

I started taking the Lolo pill to replace Yaz. It has been 7 days since I changed pills. For the past few days I have been feeling extremely anxious and emotional, I have problems with insomnia and headaches. Are my symptoms due to the change and will they get better after a while?

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question
Yes, mood changes are a side effect reported by the manufacturer, as well as other contraceptives. It may be temporary, however, if you do not notice an improvement from week to week, if it gets worse, or if it prevents you from performing your normal activities, I strongly suggest that you consult your physician for a thorough evaluation.

As the days go on, I have more and more adverse symptoms (feeling tired all the time, never rested, lack of energy etc.)
I had some bad symptoms with Yaz, but never as intense as this
I only have an appointment with my doctor in 3 months. Would you advise me to stop Lolo and go back to Yaz in the meantime?

I cannot advise you on this on this platform, as I cannot ensure adequate follow-up. However, I strongly encourage you to contact your pharmacist who will be able to customize a plan for you and keep your doctor informed of the steps involved.
