I have had a sore throat for about a week now, like a burning sensation and my throat is red. What should I do?

I have more or less difficulty swallowing and I have no problem breathing and I don't really have any other symptoms except a headache

Hello Ma'am,
It is relatively easy to know if you need to consult for such symptoms. You need to calculate the modified Centor score using the chart on page 2 here: https://www.inesss.qc.ca/fileadmin/doc/CDM/UsageOptimal/Guides-serieI/Guide-PharyngiteAmygdalite.pdf?sword_list%5B0%5D=pharyngite&no_cache=1
If your score is 3 or higher, you should see a doctor. Otherwise, rest, drink plenty of water, avoid irritating foods, take Tylenol™ for pain spikes and again rest.
Happy day :)
