Since his cold is persistent, should I be concerned and see a doctor?

hello, my 15 month old baby has had a cold for 14 days! At the beginning she was sullen, didn't sleep well and it was very runny! I use the nasal hygiene method of the chu de Ste Justine and the baby fly 3 times a day! Her secretions are still transparent/whitish but they are thicker and therefore much more difficult to evacuate! For the past two years, he has occasionally pulled his ears, but he doesn't cry when he does so. I read that a cold should last 10 days... I have the impression that she doesn't get over it and I'm afraid it will turn into an ear infection. On the other hand it works well, no fever either

Hello Ma'am,
In the absence of a fever at this age, I recommend waiting a little longer before consulting. If the child has to develop an ear infection, he will have a fever it is almost inevitable.
He may pull his ears because he can't hear as well. This happens during "heavy" colds, when secretions from the nose travel up to the middle ear through a small canal called the Eustachian tube. The best way to deal with this is to increase the frequency of the nasal hygiene technique to 5 times a day for 3 days. :)

A big thank you for your response! Today I can finally say that her cold is almost over and she seems to be touching her ears less! You are probably right, I will stay alert anyway! Thank you so much! Have a great day
