Her secretions are still transparent/whitish but they are thicker and therefore much more difficult to evacuate! For the past two years, he has occasionally pulled his ears, but he doesn't cry when he does so. I read that a cold should last 10 days... Hello Ma'am, In the absence of a fever at this age, I recommend waiting a little longer before consulting. If the child has to develop an ear infection, he will have a fever it is almost inevitable. He may pull his ears because he can't hear as well. This happens during "heavy" colds, when secretions from the nose travel up to the middle ear through a small canal called the Eustachian tube.
