Colds and sinusitis during pregnancy: when should I consult?

124-year-old woman3 years ago
Hi, I have had a bad cold for the last 8-10 days and am wondering if it has turned into sinusitis. This weekend, pain in my jaw and cheeks, and change in secretions. I had chills last night too. Should I be worried as I am 20 weeks pregnant? Note that I have a doctor's appointment next Thursday, but I wonder if it can wait another 4 days. Thanks!

Hello,
we don't like it when a pregnant woman has a fever. Here is some information: https://naitreetgrandir.com/fr/grossesse/trimestre1/fievre-durant-grossesse-signal-alarme/
can you measure your body temperature with a thermometer, ideally oral?
What do you do to relieve your pain?

Hello, it was temporary because except for the chills during the night it seems to have passed. All the other symptoms of sinusitis remain. I take regular Tylenols. Would you still recommend that I go to the hospital or call my doctor tomorrow?

Especially for your comfort, if it is possible to move up your appointment, it could be an option.
Do you clean your sinuses with saline water several times a day? I encourage you to do so.

Yes, I have started nasal hygiene. Thank you for your advice I was afraid that the fever episode would require an emergency consultation. I will still try to see to consult before Thursday to help on my general state. Thank you!
