I am recovering from a cold that lasted almost a month and for the last 3 days when I swallow, it hurts my right ear a lot. What should I do?

Hello Ma'am,
The situation you describe may be due to the presence of mucus in your ear canals. This mucus causes pressure, which in turn causes pain.
To reduce the pressure, there is a maneuver that reduces this mucus called a modified valsalva. To do it, you simply plug your nose with your fingers and "blow" with your mouth closed, while swallowing. While this may sound complex, it is relatively easy.
To help you clear the mucus, you can help yourself with medication like Dristan™, a spray that will slightly open the channel connecting the throat and middle ear.
If after 2 or 3 days the situation does not change, you will probably need to consult to validate whether an antibiotic would not be necessary.
