How do I get a referral for bariatric surgery without a family doctor?

Hello, after much thought, I have decided that I would like to have bariatric surgery. I meet all the criteria to have access to it (very high BMI, hypertension, etc. at 28 years old). However, I do not have a family doctor.

Good morning, ma'am,
A referral from a general practitioner is usually required to see the surgeon. If you do not have a family physician, you will need to visit a walk-in clinic where a physician will assess the situation and make a decision on the next step.
You can visit a walk-in clinic to start the process. The Rendez-Vous Santé Québec platform can be used to obtain an appointment at a clinic. The Bonjour Santé platform can also be tried, for a fee.
Finally, if you haven't already done so, I invite you to register for a family doctor here.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
