What should I do if I have a sty?

The treatment for styes is heat: apply warm water (not lukewarm but hot) on a clean towel and apply it on the affected eye for at least 5 minutes at least twice a day. Make sure the towel stays warm. Avoid touching it or poking it. It usually goes away on its own, but if it persists for more than 7 days after starting the compresses, I suggest that you see an optometrist.
