How much advil should I give him. He weighs 29.2 lbs and is 18 months old. I don't usually give him advil and we use Tylenol.

I don't know what dose to give my 18 month old son, 29.2 lbs Advil pediatric drops. Am I following the weight or the age? He has a fever of 39.5. Since yesterday morning his temperature has not gone down below 38.8 despite the Tylenol.

Hello, are these the drops at a concentration of 40 milligrams (mg) per milliliter (mL)?
Your child weighs 13 kg. We can give between 5 and 10 mg/kg, so between 65 and 130 mg. If I'm not mistaken, the drug brochure suggests 120 mg = 3 mL, so that would be perfectly adequate. Repeat every 6 to 8 hours, Max 3 times a day.
may I ask what is going on? Fever? Pain?

He started to have a fever yesterday around 12:38.8. Usually I give him Tylenol but the fever hardly went down... In the night he was at 39.5. We tried advils which seems to be more efficient, but the fever comes back quickly (at least 2 hours before the next dose.) Our child already had febrile convulsions so we try to monitor the fever. He has a runny nose, a sore throat. He is having trouble sleeping, seeing and eating today.

The important thing is to make it comfortable, not to bring the fever down at any cost, unless you have been told otherwise.
I do know that febrile seizures are impressive and worry us as parents. https://naitreetgrandir.com/fr/sante/convulsion-febrile/
The important thing is that he stays well hydrated. If he has a sore throat, he may enjoy popsicles or anything cold. Honey can help soothe the throat for a while.
If he is still sore after 2 or 3 days or if he has any other symptom that worries you, don't hesitate to consult.
