How much Advil or Motrin should I give my baby?

28-year-old woman2 years ago
I used to use motrin for babies 0-23 months but now it is not possible to find it near me. I bought advil for the same age but I noticed that the dosage is really less in advil than in motrin... yet it's the same medicine with the same quantity of medicine for 1ml. Can I still give the same dosage as the motrin? My baby is 9 months old and I was giving 1.25 ml of motrin when she was in pain from teething and that was the only thing that worked... I'm afraid that giving a smaller amount of advil will be less effective. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the feedback!
The dose of ibuprofen is 5 to 10mg of medication per kg of the child's weight every 6 to 8 hours, for a maximum of 4 times per 24 hour period. It is common that the dosage indicated by the manufacturer underestimates the doses :)
With this in mind, the dose of ibuprofen for your child will be approximately
1.75ml (70mg) every 6-8 hours, max 4 times a day
Don't forget to shake the product well before giving it to your child, it is a suspension (like a salad dressing). I also suggest to give it with food or milk.
I hope I've been of some help to you, and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
