I have been taking hydrochlorothiazide for decades. What are the risks of adding triamterene?

I have been taking Hydrochlor (and its ilk) for decades. If a new doctor wanted me to try Triamtevere as a replacement, would there be any risk to me? (I have many allergies and intolerances, so I'd rather ask to be on the safe side...) Thank you!

Good morning, ma'am
Triamterene is not marketed alone in Canada. It is marketed as a combination tablet with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ). Therefore, it is not a substitute for HCTZ.
Sincerely

Hello!
Yes I know, but could this combination of the two in one pill cause me problems?
I have no problem with the hydrochlor, but what about the rest?

I too often have shock and surprising allergic reactions to many substances.

That is the essence of my question.

Doctors do well with medications, but I trust pharmacists more for these cases. :)

I think you've left; I'll come back when you've had time to answer me.
Thank you for your time!

Triamterene is generally very well tolerated. It is important to monitor before starting treatment and regularly afterwards, especially the following criteria
kalemia (blood potassium level)
creatinine (estimates of kidney function)
effectiveness on blood pressure
tolerance of the drug (dizziness, hypotension, etc.)

Okay, that's clear.
Thank you very much!
