Is it possible to get pregnant with an IUD?

23-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, I have had a Mirena IUD for at least 6 months and I usually menstruate twice a month. I had an intercourse 1 month ago and since then, nothing. I still have to pee and my stomach is very swollen. I have a small fear of being pregnant even though the % is minimal. I have done 2 tests that were negative. Is it possible to get pregnant with an IUD and the tests turn out to be negative or will they be positive if that is the case? Thank you! :)

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question!
First of all, you should know that wearing the Mirena can cause you to simply not have your "period"
That being said, if pregnancy tests are done at an adequate interval following intercourse (at least 2 weeks), their results should be reliable
I hope I've been helpful, and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
