My daughter has conjunctivitis, is it possible to renew this prescription or for the pharmacist to make one without having to go back to the doctor? Thank you

Hello,
My 2 year old daughter seems to have conjunctivitis (runny red eye, secretions). Two other children in her group at daycare have it too. She had one less than 6 months ago where the optometrist prescribed antibiotic drops.

Hello,
Some prescriptions can be renewed. It depends on the initial prescription, did the doctor add refills? Your pharmacist can answer this question.
If not, depending on your daughter's symptoms, he or she may prescribe "Polysporin" type antibiotic drops. Often, conjunctivitis is viral and will disappear on its own. It is suggested to apply cold water compresses 4 times a day.
