Is it possible that Anusol ointment can cause vaginal thrush? If so, what should I do?

I gave birth a week ago. I had a hemorrhoid, the pharmacist recommended Anusol ointment. I've been using it for 2 days, now I feel like I have a vaginal mycosis. What should I do? Do I continue the treatment? How do I treat the mycosis? (Note that I have a first degree tear and a stitch)

Hello,
Zinc Sulfate (Anusol) if properly applied around the anus, should not bring on a vaginal infection. However, since you have stitches, I would suggest suspending the ointment treatment, to avoid absorption of the product at the sutured lesion or complications.
Have you tried any non-pharmacologic measures for hemorrhoids? Cool water compresses after bowel movements, performing a cleansing with a mild unscented soap after each bowel movement, etc.
As for your question about the vaginal infection, if you do have vaginal itching and heavier white discharge, I would suggest that you go to a pharmacy to validate whether you would benefit from treatment of a vaginal yeast infection. However, if your discharge smells like fish, if you have pain when you urinate, if you have coloured discharge or if you have symptoms such as fever or signs of infection in the lesion (swelling, redness, pain, etc.), I suggest that you consult your doctor.), I suggest you consult your doctor.
I hope this answers your question,
