I had my IUD inserted without hormones and I haven't had a period since, but my breasts hurt and my stomach cramps a little.

My IUD was inserted a little over a month ago, and it is the MonaLisa. I haven't had my period since then and I have sensitivity in my nipples. I have little light cramps sometimes but nothing more. And I don't know if it has anything to do with it but my legs and knees have been hurting a bit since then.

Hello Ma'am,
What is your question specifically? :)

Is this normal? Do I need to consult?
Alexandre Chagnon · 4 years ago
Yes, that can be normal!
In fact, all bodies react differently. One thing is for sure, it's best to wait a few more weeks before judging how "tolerant" you are to the IUD.
If you think there's a small risk that you might be pregnant (e.g., a pregnancy initiated a few days prior to insertion), you might want to do a pregnancy test. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry any more about your symptoms :)

Okay, thanks I'll wait a little longer! I thought it was abnormal since it was an IUD without hormones (in my head I was going to be very menstrual)
good evening

Yes, very good thinking.
The vast majority of women will be. But sometimes the cycle is slightly out of whack at first.
Good evening,
Alexander
