hi, my mother hurt her finger a few days ago, she washed it with soap but as she works a lot with her hands she prefers to cover it. What type of bandage would be best to avoid it getting wet and that absorbs the purulence that comes out? could you recommend a brand please? thanks

Hello, what kind of injury are we talking about? Cut? Deep? Superficial? Burn? What was the object that injured him? Is there a lot of pain? Non-adherent gauze can be taped to the wound with a waterproof dressing when this type of protection is needed. Applying Vaseline is not a good idea. Instead, use an antibiotic cream such as Polysporin to prevent infection. There are many different dressing companies available in pharmacies. It is best to consult a local pharmacist to determine what kind of bandages are appropriate and whether or not you need to consult a doctor. Also note that you must avoid the risk of maceration which could increase the risk of infection of the wound and poor healing. It is important to find the balance between moisture and exudate absorption. Also, make sure she washes the finger morning and night with soap and water and changes the dressing every day, especially if there is exudate.
