I switched from the YAZ birth control pill to the EVRA birth control patch, do I need to protect myself for the next 7 days, or am I ok?

Hello,
How far along are you in your pill pack? Have you missed any in the last month? Do you always take them at the same time each day? Have you had unprotected sex in the last 7 days? When did you apply your Evra patch specifically?

I'm on my 2nd week of the package, no forgetting, yes still in the same vicinity of hours, not in the last 7 days and I applied it Wednesday

Okay. Here are the guidelines that ideally should have been followed: Apply the patch and take a COC the same day and another one the next day.
Did you do this?

Yes

Excellent. So, with the information you provide, additional protection is not necessary to prevent pregnancy. However, condoms do provide additional protection and are the only means of protection against STIs
