Indeed, the pharmacist can prescribe most of the medications you need to bring with you when you travel. This includes medications for traveler's diarrhea (antibiotics, Imodium, electrolytes), for malaria and for altitude sickness.
The latter will meet with you and according to your destination and your medical file will prescribe the appropriate medication. Also, many pharmacies specializing in travel health have a nurse who can assess your vaccination needs or update your vaccination record
