Probiotics (or certain yogurts with probiotics) have been shown to be effective for 2 reasons associated with antibiotics: to prevent diarrhea associated with antibiotics or to prevent the risk of getting C. Difficile, especially in people at risk (for example, people who have already had a C. Difficile infection). So, if you want to use them for one of these 2 reasons, probiotics can be used. Please note that you must space the antibiotics and probiotics 2 hours before or after so that the probiotics are not destroyed. I recommend that you consult your pharmacist who will guide you on the different products available. On the other hand, if you wish to use probiotics for other reasons during your antibiotics, I do not have enough data to recommend them.
