Is there a link between substance abuse and sugar - like heroine addicts who load up on sugar if they can't get their fix?

Hello Sir,
You're right, the system is slow for situations like yours and medication is usually the first option when it comes to offering help to someone struggling with mania.
Other than medication, psychotherapy has been known to be very helpful in helping to better control agitation and equip oneself with "tricks" to keep it from getting out of hand. Do you think you have access to such a resource?
Without wanting to put a lot of emphasis on this option (or imply that it can replace a consultation with a psychologist), it is in your best interest to know that practices such as mindfulness, yoga and meditation can help you reduce agitation (and give you a temporary solution until you consult psychotherapy). At this level, I recommend an application for the phone called MindShift CBT, developed by Anxiety Canada. Headspace is also a very good resource.
It's a pleasure,

Thank you, I really appreciate your response, I will try what you refer. I have an appointment with my shrink from last year tomorrow. Currently I smoke pot occasionally, almost no ths and bcp of cbd, it calms me down. In the field hockey room I heard about a cbd spray that helps calm me down. What are your impressions of these products. Thanks

I have no experience with such products. I think it might be very interesting to discuss this with your shrink tomorrow 😊.
Good evening,
