He is energetic and in good spirits.

I am missing some information to be able to answer you properly.

First, what is your child's fever? How old is your child? Have you found a probable cause for the fever? What is his weight? What dose of Tempra did you give him? Does more than 48 hours mean several days (e.g. 4 days)?

For your information, the first goal is to make sure that the child with a fever is well. We are not looking for hermia (absence of fever) at all costs. We simply want to make sure that there are no factors that require medical attention, and that Tempra has been used correctly.

My son is 23 months old. His fever ranged from 37.5 to 40.2. No cause seemed visible to me and the rest of the family is doing well. He weighs about 30 lbs and I gave him 3ml of tempera every 4 hours. This is the 3rd day!

I think the problem lies in the dose of Tempra you are giving your child.

In fact, if you are taking the children's formulation: http://www.temprasoulage.ca/product/show/sirop-pour-enfants, the dose should be 10mL per dose for a maximum of 5 doses per 24 hours. And even if you use a double strength formulation (http://www.temprasoulage.ca/product/show/sirop-pour-enfants-concentration-double), the dose should be 6mL per dose. 3mL is therefore potentially insufficient for your boy considering his weight.

I therefore recommend that you always have your pharmacist calculate the dose to give your children, or ask the question here, specifying the age and weight of your children.
