I have a cold sore for the first time in the corner of my mouth. I have been using Abreva for 4 days. I am at the stage of a crust forming, and it is cracking, it is painful.

Hello Ma'am,

Yes, I frequently recommend using Vaseline in such a situation.

In fact, using Vaseline™ does not increase the risk of the lesion being present any longer and decreases the risk of it cracking like this.

It is applied as needed to prevent cracking.
