I am pregnant and have a sore throat. I am on a trip to Mexico. What should I do?

32 years old Pregnant 4-5 weeks On a trip to Mexico Sore throat, difficulty swallowing since 12 hours. What can I take? I have Cepacol, tylenol and a prescription for Azithromycin 250mg. Thanks for the information. It sounds like a sore throat from pharyngitis, but I will wait a few days as recommended. To date I am relieved by tylenol.

Hello, Sore throat in adults is mostly caused by a virus and therefore does not require antibiotics. The pain usually lasts 5-7 days. You can therefore use Cepacols and Tylenol if necessary when the pain is too severe. When you return home, if the pain is still present, consult your doctor. Thank you and have a good trip!
