I started Ozempic yesterday and had sweats during the night, is this related?

I started Ozempic last night for weight loss, last night I had night sweats and slept badly. Could this be related? Or is it just a coincidence?

Good morning, ma'am,
It is quite difficult to establish the cause if it has only happened once. However, if it happens again, I strongly suggest that you discuss it with your pharmacist, who can revalidate the dose with you
This being said, these symptoms can be symptoms of dehydration, or even a drop in sugar levels. These aspects should also be checked, especially if you are eating less and taking other medications (such as those for diabetes and high blood pressure)
I hope this has been helpful to you, and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks for the feedback! Ozempic is often prescribed to people who suffer from diabetes as well. It can cause nausea and loss of appetite, and if a person takes their diabetes medication without eating or with less food, it can cause a perhaps more pronounced decrease in blood sugar. I took the liberty of asking you this in order to obtain as much information as possible to better advise you. To this end, I refer you to your pharmacist who has this information and more (including the dose you are taking), and who will be able to customize solutions for you :)
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
