Hello, I use Stieva-A 0.025% to treat my acne but it makes my skin extremely dry, what moisturizer should I use?

Is there any that can be prescribed or sold over the counter? Thanks in advance! I am currently using aveeno cream but my skin is still very dry and there is some flaking.

Hello, Are you at the beginning of your treatment? This is a side effect that often occurs at the beginning of treatment. The dryness often improves with time. The important thing is to maintain good skin hygiene (e.g. apply cream every day). If you notice that the dryness persists despite moisturizing or becomes more important, it is sometimes necessary to space out the doses a little more, to increase tolerance. For moisturizing creams, it is necessary to prefer creams without perfumes, without alcohol and non-comedogenic. Ceramide-based creams (e.g. Cerave, Cutibase) are very useful in this context. They are a bit more expensive in terms of price than normal (~$15-20), but are very hydrating and light. I don't know if this is right for you... A complementary option is to replace your face soap with a moisturizing cleanser. There is one from the same brands (ex: Cerave). This has the advantage of better moisturizing your skin even when washing your face. In order to avoid irritation of your skin, minimize face washing (maximum: 1-2 times a day). Avoid abrasive products on your skin, especially exfoliants. For your lips, make sure you have a moisturizing balm. Also, make sure to protect your skin from the cold and use a sunscreen. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need to, Karima Zerrouki Pharmacist
