I am in the early stages of a cold, can I still get the vaccine today?

Will it make my symptoms worse, headaches, congestion, muscle pain? I am on a hunting vacation this weekend and want to be in condition... Thank you

There is no contraindication to giving the flu vaccine when you have a cold. The injectable vaccine is not live, so there is no risk of worsening your symptoms, but if you have a fever or your symptoms are very severe, it is better to wait a day or two until you feel better. Headaches and muscle aches are reported in the possible side effects, but this is quite rare and will not worsen the symptoms already present. (It is possible that your cold evolves and that you have other symptoms, unrelated to the vaccine)
