Hello and thank you for your answers!
The vaccine can cause injection site pain or joint pain that usually subsides within 48 to 72 hours. In your case, since the effects you are reporting coincide with the administration of your vaccine, this suggests that this could be the cause of the problem. However, it is important to keep in mind that it could be something else as well: Did you do a particular activity that required more of your left arm? Did you hurt yourself shoveling?
I was asking about heart problems because it is common for people with angina to have pain in their left arm, but usually associated with chest pain, shortness of breath, radiation in the jaw and it occurs with physical effort. If you are experiencing chest pain with exertion or at rest, I would advise you to seek emergency medical attention.
After some research into rarer adverse events reported with the Moderna vaccine, there have been cases of extremity pain, aches and pains (no other mention), but I don't see anything that really coincides with the symptoms you are reporting. It's not impossible that it's due to the vaccine itself or the injection.
I would advise you to make an appointment with your doctor within the next week to have your symptoms assessed. In the meantime, you can continue the acetaminophen and apply ice for 15min every hour on your arm. Again, if your pain is associated with chest pain, go to the emergency room right away. You can also call the COVID line for a 2nd opinion at 1-877-644-4545 or 811.
I wish you a good day!
