Is it normal that I have the imperative to have a urinary infection when I am on my period (it starts 2-3 days before)?

Good evening,
In order to properly answer your question, I would like to validate some elements
What are your symptoms exactly?
Does it happen systematically at each menstruation?
How long have you had this problem?

I have the symptoms of a urinary tract infection, often need to urinate but in small quantities (a few drops), pain when urinating, pain in the lower abdomen (possibly due to menstruation). Usually it happens only before the period and when it happens it passes, this time if it continues. I have had several infections in the past so I know the symptoms well

Thank you for the clarification. Indeed, these are quite the symptoms of a urinary infection. It's very strange that it happens systematically at menstruation (before in fact). I also wonder if it's not the swelling of the abdomen (water retention) associated with menstruation that could put pressure on your bladder and cause these symptoms. This time, however, it may be an infection since it continues over time. If you want, we offer a UTI management service at the pharmacy
