Can Vyvanse affect my thyroid test?

45-year-old woman5 years ago
Hello, I am taking vyvanse 40mg and syntroid 125 for hypothyroidism. We just found out yesterday that I am currently hyper at 0.015 but with no hyper symptoms. 2 questions 1- before the blood test, I was asked not to take my syntroid that morning, to take it after, but I took my vyvanse, could this have influenced the TSH result? 2-I read not to take vyvanse in hyperthyroidism, should I be worried? I have no nervousness, my pressure is perfect ect....

Hello to you!
First, no don't worry, the Vyvanse should not have had any effect on your thyroid blood test!
Second, don't worry about taking Vyvanse right now either.
Hyperthyroidism is actually an opposite disease to yours, which is that thyroid hormones are elevated all the time. In your case, since the situation is temporary while the Synthroid is being adjusted, if everything remains as usual in terms of pressure/nervousness and also heartbeat (normal pulse, regular beat), you have nothing to worry about!
However, do not hesitate to consult us or your pharmacist/doctor if these symptoms appear!
Have a nice day and don't hesitate if you have any other questions :)
