Do essential oils have an impact on contraception?

22-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello, I read that the essential oils of the "hormone-like" type were contraindicated in the case of hormonal treatment and cancer, but no one talks about contraception. I am wearing a contraceptive implant "nexplanon" and I wanted to know if the essential oils of the "hormone-like" type had an impact on the effectiveness of contraception?

Hello
The so-called hormone-like essential oils act like a synthetic hormone and can balance or deregulate the hormones in our body. It is important to know that these essential oils are contraindicated in cases of mastosis, fibroids, hormone-dependent cancers or excess estrogen
Given the lack of data, it is strongly recommended to avoid using these oils when taking hormonal treatment.
I hope I have answered your question!
