My 15 month old daughter has a cold and for the last 4 days has had yellowish secretions in both eyes. She does not scratch or touch them. What can I do?

The cold has been there for a good month. Now she only has secretions. I do sinus rinse every day and clean her eyes. No appointment with her doctor for another month.

Hi AndreeAnne,
as far as cold symptoms go, we don't have many treatment alternatives for young children
What you are doing with the Sinus Rinse is correct. You can give him Tylenol or Advil for comfort if temperature or pain
For yellow secretions in the eyes, it is common for a cold to promote conjunctivitis in the eyes. An antibiotic drop is available behind the counter. It is a matter of going to your pharmacist so that he can assess the situation.
I must admit that a cold of one month is rather long. Normally, typical symptoms last a maximum of 10 to 14 days. A consultation with your doctor should not be long in coming if things do not improve soon

Yes thank you, she just started daycare and all the colds are coming on one after the other.
I will go see a pharmacist! Thank you.
