My daughter has a small patch under her chin that is paler in the middle, is it a fungus?

Hello,
This type of plaque can have several origins:
  • It can be a dry skin patch with a lighter delineation in the center;
  • A target-shaped plaque can be a sign of a tick bite;
  • A plaque with a raised, crusty edge, clear in the center, can be the result of a fungal infection.
Since it can be complex to advise dermatological issues of this type via teleconsultation, I strongly suggest you take a picture of it and go meet with your regular pharmacist.
Sorry I can't be of further assistance,
Andrée-Ann P. pharmacy student under the supervision of Alexandre Chagnon, pharmacist
