My child complains of a sore throat, coughs a little and has red lines on his tonsils. What should I do?

Hello Ma'am,
I am missing some information to be able to help you:
  • How old is your child?
  • How long has he been complaining of these pains?
  • Has he had a fever?

Hello!!!
he's 3 years old, about a week old and no he doesn't have a fever but rather a cold..

Perfect, thank you for this information.
In such a case, it is important to simply ask him to rest a lot, drink a lot of water, avoid irritating foods (salty, too sweet, spicy) and wait for it to pass.
Most of the time, young people have such symptoms for less than 14 days.
If your child's throat starts to hurt a lot more, or if he or she starts a fever, or if it still hurts in 14 days, we'll go see a doctor. Until then, rest and Advil™ are in order. :)
Good day,
Alexandre Chagnon, pharmacist
