Thank you for this information. As for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in pregnancy, the first choice of treatment is indeed antacids like Tums. They can be taken at a rate of 1 to 2 tablets 3 to 4 times a day for a maximum of 7 tablets per day. If this is not enough, it is safe to use Zantac during pregnancy. You can take a 75-150mg tablet once or twice a day to relieve your symptoms. Other measures can also help with GERD such as limiting fatty foods, spicy foods, tomatoes, coffee, mint, tea, soft drinks, etc. Avoiding eating and drinking 3 hours before bedtime and elevating the head of the bed with an extra pillow can help. Chewing gum can also help a little. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us. With pleasure, Jean-Félix Côté, pharmacist
