The maximum dose is 4000mg per day, or maximum 1000mg (2 extra-strength 500mg tablets) every 6 hours, when used on a short-term basis.

The dose is the same for pregnant women.

It is safe and effective if you have arm pain, fever or general discomfort. It is not necessary to take it as a preventive measure before the injection, only after if uncomfortable symptoms occur.
