Hello,
All anti-inflammatory drugs work on the same principle and none of them have proven to be more effective than the others (at equivalent doses). However, there are a few points to note: The number of times per day: While ibuprofen is taken every 6 hours, naproxen and diclofenac are taken every 12 hours and celecoxib can be taken every 24 hours (or every 12 hours). The celecoxib is from a different family called Cox-2 inhibitor, it does not act on platelets (unlike the others). In terms of side effects, celecoxib is also better tolerated than diclofenac, which is better than naproxen. Especially since in ARTHROTEC, diclofenac is mixed with another product to protect the stomach. This is also the case with naproxen in VIMOVO. Finally, diclofenac is the one that presents the most risk of cardiovascular complications (Health Canada has decreased the maximum daily dose for this reason). To summarize, for short term use, in a person with no health problems, any one of them will be adequate. For longer term use, in people with stomach problems or a history of heart disease, the choice may be adapted to the patient's condition. A word on diclofenac gel, a good option to try, for some problems, the concentration of anti-inflammatory will be higher where it is needed and avoid stomach, heart and clotting problems
I hope I have helped you.
