I was diagnosed with shingles on Monday November 11th. I was given antivirals "valacyclovir 500 MG" as I was on my 2nd day.

It stings and burns as much as before. It's on my lower back near my waist. What should I do or take to relieve the pain and itching? I don't sleep much. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I invite you to consult your family doctor quickly so that he or she can prescribe you good painkillers. Depending on certain conditions, he or she will prescribe pregabalin (Lyrica) which helps relieve the pain caused by shingles
In the meantime, I invite you to relieve the pain with two acetaminophen 500mg tablets, every 4 to 6 hours (maximum of 8 tablets per day). If your pharmacological file allows it, ibuprofen (Advil) can also be added in the meantime.
I hope that I have answered your question correctly,
