Should I go back on antibiotics for the second infection in my eye?

I have conjunctivitis that started in my right eye, which seems to be bacterial. I treated it with antibiotics given by a pharmacist, but since then the other eye gets infected and it repeats.

Hello Ma'am,
It is very uncommon for bacterial conjunctivitis to infect the other eye.
In other words, it is quite possible that what you have right now is viral conjunctivitis, not requiring an antibiotic.
I would still recommend that you stop by the pharmacy to talk with the pharmacist and show your eye. The pharmacist will be able to make a decision about whether to continue with another course of antibiotics.

Hello,
Indeed it is strange that both eyes were infected but they were not infected at the same times (one eye then 15 days later the other). Maybe the bacteria had the opportunity to infect the other eye?
It is not a violent conjunctivitis, just a little bit of purulence in the morning, but no pain.
Thanks for your advice!

Great!
If it's not "violent" :), I would tend to wait.
What you describe is really more of a viral infection.
If the eye remains infected in 7 days, then a pharmacist is consulted in person.
Good evening,
Alexandre Chagnon, pharmacist
