Ovulation test. Is it normal to have such a high peak for 3 days? Or is it abnormal?

Hello, I gave birth a little over 7 months ago. I got my period back 6 months post partum. I am breastfeeding on demand. Baby eats his 3 meals very well. I have been doing ovulation tests for 2 months. I had an LH spike last month, but it lasted 24 hours at most. This month I have an LH peak that is darker than the comparison bar for 3 days. We are on trial for baby 2.

Hello,
First of all, it is more difficult to conceive while breastfeeding, as it requires a lot of energy from the body.
Also, since you had your period return about 1 month ago, your cycle may not be regulated yet.
So, I don't think it's worrisome at this point if there are some irregularities in your cycle. The LH peak usually lasts 24-48 hours, which currently fits your situation.
However, what product do you use to determine when your LH peak is? I would like to check how it works. Also, did you check if the product was expired or damaged? This could skew the results.

Hello Catherine,
I use Premom's easyhome ovulation tests (sell on Amazon). The date has not expired! Before these positive results, my TOs were all well and truly negative. Basically on the 23rd the strip was slightly higher than the control line to peak on the 26th (really darker than the control line) and it went back down to lighter today.
So this would be normal?
A big thank you for your answers!

I went and read up on these tests and it is my understanding that the peak is the darkest color you get in the cycle, regardless of the color of the peak.
So it would be normal for the darkest color to be present from 24-48 hours, as this is the usual duration of the LH peak.
