What can I do to relieve my burning scalp?

26-year-old woman5 years ago
Hello, I have red patches on my scalp and medium-large pieces of skin that peel off. But, it's not like dandruff this doesn't fall on my clothes. My scalp itches and sometimes burns. I have sensitive skin, but now I don't know how to make my scalp heal. Please note that I do not take any medication and there is no change in my personal hygiene and before I did not do that. Thank you so much for your help!

Hello! Thank you for your question. Your question leads me to some of my own: 1- How long have you had this problem? 2- Have you tried to treat it (e.g. with a tar-based shampoo like Sebcur-T)? 3- Have you ever consulted a doctor for this problem? Depending on your answers, I will be able to guide you better, but my first reflex would be to consult a doctor to clarify the diagnosis (eczema, psoriasis, other?), then to try a tar-based shampoo like Sebcur-T twice a week). I'm waiting to hear from you :) Emmanuelle

this has been doing this to me since the beginning of the winter or so. Then I tried taking an anti-dandruff shampoo at first because I thought that's what it was but it seems like my skin has become twice as irritated and no I haven't gone to the doctor for this yet. thanks :)

Ok perfect, and indeed it's not dandruff so the anti-dandruff shampoo may have irritated more than anything else... So my recommendation would be to go see your family doctor to clarify what it is (if it's eczema or psoriasis, he/she might prescribe a cortisone solution to reduce the inflammation and itching). In the meantime, a shampoo like sebcur-T could be tried. I hope I've answered your question a bit :) Have a good Saturday, Emmanuelle
