Constipation in a baby: what to give?

31-year-old woman5 years ago
Hello, my 5 month old daughter started eating a few weeks ago. Until now everything was fine but for a few days she seems to be constipated. I haven't changed her diet though. ( oatmeal, banana, apple, carrot, sweet potato, chicken ) Is there anything I can give or do to help her? She cries a lot more and seems to have a harder tummy than normal. I have already tried the "bike" with her legs and abdominal massage but without success so far. Thanks to you and have a good day!

Hello Mrs., Ideally, you should try to solve the constipation with diet by incorporating more dietary fiber (crushed vegetables, oats, etc.) You can also try prunes (some cereals contain them). If these measures do not work, you can try a medication such as Lax-A-Day depending on your weight or anal stimulation with a suppository or a thermometer. I hope I have answered correctly. Thank you
