I started a treatment with Flovent 2 months ago. However, I have developed a sensitivity in my throat. What can I do?

I have been on Flovent for about 2 months now, following the recommended dosage and method with the inner tube and of course rinsing my mouth every time. However, I developed a sensitivity in my throat, a kind of irritation. It is as if the air that passes is always cold. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do?

Good morning, ma'am,
The use of a spacer and rinsing your mouth is excellent because it reduces the risk of a fungal infection, such as thrush. However, it is still possible.
Do you have white spots on your tongue, throat or palate?

No, I don't have any white patches. The discomfort is felt at the level of the vocal cords and a little lower, at the hollow at the junction of the two clavicles. The pain intensifies when doing outdoor sports, when the air intake is greater.

Ok so it doesn't look like a thrush to me. You were originally prescribed Flovent for what reason?

I have asthma, and I am waiting to be tested to be officially diagnosed. I received my pumps following a hospitalization in early March for bacterial pneumonia that got worse. Asthma attacks after working out were common before I started treatment.

Ok well for now I suggest you continue Flovent regularly then salbutamol when you have breathing difficulties.
You can always try gargling with salt water for irritation but if it doesn't get better I suggest you see your doctor :)
For now it doesn't seem to be an emergency. I hope it gets better and you get test results soon.
I hope I have answered your question. Don't hesitate if you have any other questions.
