Hello,
There is also a risk of interaction between Cipralex and alcohol. This interaction is similar to the one that exists between all antidepressants and alcohol.
In people taking Cipralex on a regular basis, it is expected that alcohol intake may increase drowsiness and drunkenness. In other words, these people may feel "drunk" long before someone who is not taking Cipralex.
Also, a person taking Cipralex who drinks large amounts of alcohol on a regular basis may decrease the effectiveness of the antidepressant. This is because alcohol is a nervous system depressant (it "relaxes") and this works in the opposite way to the medication.
Have a nice day,
Alexandre
