I am breastfeeding and we think he might have a cow milk protein allergy. We took him to his pediatrician and she wasn't able to give us answers but said she wasn't too too worried since he's growing well. I have cut out dairy completely from my diet for a week now and things seem to be getting better but stools are still mucusy with a couple of brown specs (much less than before).

Hi there,
You could try probiotic drops for your baby, but it should not be considered that it will put an end to traces of blood in its stools. In fact, what you're describing is possibly linked with allergies and probiotics will not be sufficient to reduce allergic reactions.
The best course of action, in my opinion, is to continue to cut out diary products from your alimentation and see how it will improve its symptoms in 2 to 3 weeks.
